Just a heads up, our estimates are rough estimates only. Taxi rates in St. Maarten are set by the government and can vary by location. Rates are based on zones, with minimum charges for two passengers and extra fees for more passengers and luggage. Double-check rates with your driver before your ride.
Some important points to keep in mind when budgeting for taxi rides in St. Maarten:
- Rates go up by 25% after 10 p.m. and 50% after midnight
- One free luggage allowance per person, additional luggage may cost $2-$4
- Tipping 10-15% is common but not obligatory
- Sharing a taxi with others can save you money
